IH Services Expands to Five Defense Prime Locations in Washington, Oregon, and Utah

IH Services expansion, October 2026: IH Services has added five defense prime locations in Washington, Oregon, and Utah. Together, they bring nearly one million square feet of new space under management. The award shows the model IH Services was built on. The company is small enough to flex to a client’s schedule, and its parent is large enough to scale across states. So, for the Oregon and Washington sites, IH Services engaged its parent company, GDI Ainsworth, as the subcontractor under one IH Services agreement.

What the IH Services expansion covers

The five locations belong to a single defense prime and span three states. Together, they add close to one million square feet of production, support, and controlled space to the IH Services portfolio. Moreover, every site runs under one agreement and one IH Services site manager who owns the outcome. The same operating system, R3 Secure FacilityOps, runs at each site, so every work order leaves a record an auditor can pull.

In addition, the expansion follows the IH Services facility service readiness plan. So, the team schedules staffing, access coordination with the client’s security office, and the CMMS asset baseline against each site’s start date rather than after it.

Small-company flexibility, large-company scale

Defense primes face a trade-off when they buy facility services. A small provider answers the phone, adapts to the site, and sends the same people every week. However, it cannot staff five sites in three states on one start date. A national provider can scale. Yet the client becomes an account number, and the crew changes with every subcontract. IH Services was built to remove that trade-off.

Here, the company kept the small-company side intact: one agreement, one accountable site manager per location, and the responsiveness of a firm that has served the same clients for decades. For the Oregon and Washington locations, IH Services then drew on the large-company side. It engaged its parent, GDI  Ainsworth, as the subcontractor. Consequently, the client got a regional footprint and a deep labor bench. There was no second contract, no second invoice, and no second point of accountability.

“Primes keep telling us the same thing. They want the attention of a small company and the reach of a large one, and they are tired of choosing,” said Marc Collings, Senior Vice President of Client Solutions at IH Services. “This award is the answer. IH Services holds the agreement and owns the outcome at every site. When a program needs scale, GDI Ainsworth is behind us. In short, the client flexes with us and scales with the family.”

IH Services expansion by the numbers

  • First, five defense prime locations in Washington, Oregon, and Utah
  • Also, nearly one million square feet of new space under management
  • Likewise, one agreement, one IH Services site manager per site, and one operating system across all five
  • Finally, GDI Ainsworth engaged as subcontractor for the Oregon and Washington sites, under the same IH Services agreement

Why it matters to defense primes

Consolidation only pays when the consolidated provider can cover the whole portfolio. However, most small providers cannot, and most large ones cannot stay close. For that reason, this expansion is the proof point IH Services offers to any prime weighing a multi-site award. The agreement, the records, and the accountability stay with one company, while the capacity behind it scales with the program. Likewise, the security posture stays constant. IH Services holds a DoD Cleared Workforce posture under a dedicated Facility Security Officer. Its security program is administered under the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency.
