Safety Week, October 5–9: What Do You Do When No One Is Watching?

Safety Week runs October 5–9, 2026. This year’s theme asks every IH Services team member one question: What do you do when no one is watching?

The choices nobody sees matter most

Safety isn’t built during inspections or audits. It’s built in the quiet moments on every shift, when you make a choice that no one else will ever see:

  • The shortcut you don’t take
  • The hazard you report
  • The question you ask
  • The coworker you help
  • The procedure you follow

These moments may seem small, but they define our safety culture and help make sure everyone gets home safely.

Put the poster to work this week

  • Post it where your crew gathers. Print the PDF and hang it at the time clock, in the break room, and inside the supply closet door.
  • Open each shift huddle with one behavior. Pick one of the five moments each day, Monday through Friday, and ask your crew for a real example from your site.
  • Recognize it when you see it. When someone reports a hazard or stops to ask a question, thank them in front of the team.

Behaviors that matter. Make this the week you notice the choices nobody sees, and make the right one every time.
