History In 1955, Dick Hendley started a small family owned business in Greenville, South Carolina by providing restroom cleaning to gas stations and restaurants. Dick was a true pioneer in industrial outsourcing. He began providing janitorial services to manufacturing customers who needed around the clock cleaning. His vision helped manufacturers outsource indirect jobs, such as sweepers, haulers, packers, cleaners, and allowed clients to focus on their core business – making products – not cleaning up. This was the start of outsourcing as we know it today.   The need for a better quality of cleaning in the textile industry brought IH Services its first industrial client in 1958 – a client still being serviced today and one of the first industrial facilities to outsource janitorial services.

Certifications IH Services is certified by the International Sanitary Supply Association (ISSA) in the Cleaning Industry Management Standards (CIMS) - the only consensus based on management standards in the cleaing industry.   The standard applies to management, operations, performance systems and processes. Compliance with the standard demonstrates that our organization is structured to deliver consistent quality systems that are designed to meet your needs and expectations.   Certified Minority Business Enterprise Option IH Services, Inc. has formed a new business venture with the Newbold Corporation in Charlotte, NC. The new company - Newbold Services - is a certified Minority Business Enterprise by the Carolinas Minority Supplier Development Council. This company was formed based on the need for companies to identify suppliers who can deliver service excellence while offering 100% Tier 1 Certified MBE minority spend dollars.     If you choose to award the business to Newbold Services, each employee on site would be a Newbold Services employee including the on-site manager.  The operational, human resource, accounting, engineering and all other forms of support would remain the same whether the contract is issued to IH Services or Newbold Services.
