Policy

It is the policy of IH Services, Inc. to provide a safe and healthful work environment for all employees. Employees are expected to comply with all safety and health requirements whether established by management or by federal, state or local law.

Practice

We have a Safety Policy Manual at each location. That is the basis for the Safety orientation each employee receives at the time of employment. Our Job Safety Checklist documents the training received during the employee’s orientation. Additional orientation information includes all applicable plant rules of the client. After the initial orientation, employees are required to attend monthly safety meetings. Meeting outlines and attendance records are required to be sent to the home office, as well as to District and Operations Managers.

Training

Management/Leadership safety training is conducted when one is employed or promoted into such a job. A Manager of Human Resources conducts this training. Annual corporate management meetings have a safety component conducted by Human Resource Managers who have corporate responsibility for safety. The safety training components usually range from two to four hours.  Supervisors are trained when hired or promoted. They are trained by the District Manager or the Account Manager. They must participate in monthly safety meetings conducted by the Account Manager. These meetings are usually about one-half hour long.

 Audits

Account Managers are responsible for daily informal inspections and monthly documented inspections. District Managers perform quarterly inspections. The Manager of Human Resources conducts random and targeted safety audits. Disciplinary measures may be taken against the manager if he/she does not comply with safety requirements.
